Kid’s Church at St Andrew’s

Kid’s Church: Term 4

This term at Kid’s Church we’ll be looking at Jesus’ return! In light of his first coming when he came, died and rose for us, how should we now live as we await the King’s return? We’ll have fun games, activities, plays and clear teaching on how our children can keep on living for Christ in this world!

About Kid’s Church

St Andrew’s Anglican Church offers a Kid’s program during our 10am service in term time. The service will start with both kids and adults attending the first part of the service. Every second week, we have a communion service and both kids and adults are in the service together for this important time of our gathering.

During the ‘greeting of peace’ time, the children will head into the foyer and be signed in by their parents or guardians for Kid’s Church. We usually have three leaders supervising and leading the children during Kid’s Church. All our volunteers are Safe Ministry compliant. Each leader holds a current Working with Children Check, a National Police Check and has undergone the necessary Anglican Diocesan training modules for children’s ministry.

Parents and guardians are very welcome to stay for part or all of the time that Kid’s Church is on depending on how much support your child requires.

We ask that parents sign their children in and out of Kid’s Church and leave their mobile phone turned to silent during the service. If your child needs to go to the toilet during the service, we will message you to come and collect them so that they can go to the toilet with your supervision. If your family is coming regularly to our church, then we would ask that you please fill out a registration form for the program.

The curriculum that we use for our Kid’s church program is called ‘Over the Top’ by Youthworks Media. It’s an excellent curriculum which encourages your children to work through books of the bible so that your children become familiar and confident with their reading of the Bible and knowledge of the great stories within its pages. ‘Over the Top’ encourages leaders to help disciple those that attend so that they grow in their knowledge but also in how to apply the Scriptures to their day-to-day challenges and experiences.

We usually start with a game, move to sharing the Bible story, some sort of craft or activity about the story and then finish off with a simple morning tea of fruit and crackers over a time of prayer.

At this stage, we offer Kid’s church for the program for children aged Prep-to Grade 6 but if your child is in kindergarten and is confident to join in, we always modify the program so that they can participate in as much as possible.

So families, please come and join in our learning about Jesus! For more information please contact Reverend Chris Lynch at:
